Thursday Thunks

The Halloweeney Version of Thursday Thunks
Welcome to the October almost Halloweenth version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the color Blood red and the number 31.

1. So Halloween is this weekend, if you haven't heard. Are you gonna open your doors up or not?

Sorry, no trick or treaters in this side of the world. I'm in a hick little city in the Philippines.

2. You better open 'em cuz I'm coming... what are you putting in my treat bag?

Milky Ways that I got from my Uncle who came from Alaska. Was that complicated enough for you?

3. Since October is the bestest month for television (well for cable & dish subscribers it is) and there is a horror movie on at any given time of the day - are you sick of them yet?

Nope, Horror is my favorite, specially Japanese Horror movies...very intriguing and gives me goosebumps. I'm curious about the movie " Paranormal Activity" though. Seems like it's like Blairwitch Project.

4. Which one of those movies can you watch over & over again?

The Ring, The Grudge, The Eye, and Shutter.

5. Tell us about a Halloween scare you've had....

No scary stories.

6. Did you watch the old Casper cartoons when you were a youngin? Well, back then they weren't old I suppose, but I'm sure you still understand my question.

Nope. Just the movie with Christina Ricci and Devon Sawa.

7. Have you ever found a four-leaf clover?

Unfortunately, not yet.

8. Haunted Houses... you know, the kinds you pay to get in and they chase you with chainsaws and severed heads.... do you like 'em?

Never been to one, so I wouldn't know if I like 'em.

9. Do you use cute cartoon type wrapping paper for Christmas presents or the not cutesy paper? Or are you one of those gift card and/or gift bag people?

Gift bag people or the two-toned christmas wrapper (in the shades of red and green).

10. How long do boiled eggs need to stay in the boiling water before they become hard boiled eggs?

3 minutes.

11. Jason is coming in through your front door... Freddy is coming through your back door... zombies are at every window of the house and Norman Bates is calling to invite you to dinner... what do you do?

I better call Sam and Dean Winchester.
Image from TVcrazy.net

12. Did you know that the scariest part of Halloween is giving all of your Reeses Peanut Butter Cups away?

Haven't tasted it yet. What's scary is to give even just a single piece of my Hershey's Sugar Free Milk Chocolate.

13a. If you were to play a part of a haunted house (not the ghosts in the attic kind), what would you want to be?

There's just too much to choose from. What's your pick?

13b. Have you ever played a part in a haunted house? Nope

14. If Thursday Thunks had a Halloween party, what do you think Kimber & Berleen would come dressed as?

Patients in a straitjacket.

15. Do you cook a turkey for Thanksgiving?

Not a holiday in the Philippine islands.

16. Have you ever read a book that scared the pants off of you?

My pants don't scare that easily and have not ventured to do so yet.

17. Whats the predicted high temperature for today?

We're going to experience a storm, bound to come this weekend.

18. Have you ever howled at the moon?

Yes, when I was at the beach. Probably not howled, just screamed my head off.

19.You are in an alley and a werewolf and a vampire are coming at you - one of them has to win. Which one do you want to bite you?

Edward Cullen, Lestat de Lioncourt, Louis, my top pick - Jasper Cullen. (definitely Vampire!)

Thursday Thunks: Meme and More

1. If you were to start a meme (or a second or third), what would you call it and what day would you pick?

I started Letters That I'll Never Send, for a 2nd meme... I'd probably pick Mondays... and call it Lazy Couch Mondays --- tv show addicts meme.

2. When a celebrity endorses a product, do you really believe they like it/use it?

For some celebrities I guess, but if they can afford a better product, I'm sure they buy something else.

3. Why don't zombies ever just eat each other?

They don't want to promote cannibalism.

4. If you were an elephant, would you rather roam free or be in a zoo?

Be in a zoo! I want to feel safe, taken cared of and fed.

5. The doorbell rings on October 31st, do you answer it?

Yes, because there are no trick or treaters in our hometown.

6. If you see a piece of paper on the ground while out & about, do you pick it up? If so, do you look to see what it is?

While I'm out and about, I'd probably ignore a piece of paper, unless it's paper money.

7. If Jon Gosselin and Octomom got married and then their own reality show, do you think she would try to get pregnant again for better ratings?

I don't know what to think about them. Maybe, definitely maybe.

8. If Thursday Thunks was to be put on hold or quit completely, would you be sad?

I'd be sad, this is my stress reliever meme. I'm missing the Queen's meme a lot now.

Thursday Thunks: Soaps and Lather

Lather Up, Laugh It Up, And Have A Colorful Day!

1. Does soap or shampoo have to really lather up for you to feel that it cleaned throughly?

No. I just have to scrub a lot harder to make me feel cleaned thoroughly.

2. Do you have a long standing joke with someone that you still laugh about every time you talk to that person?

I have a long standing joke of not celebrating my son's 2nd birthday because an employee's daughter is turning one that day and we'll all be going to where their party is...to celebrate there.

3. Share something that happened to you this past week that was unusual.

My mom bought something for my son first. That's very unusual. Usually, it's my daughter she thinks of first.

4. If you dropped a purple crayon and a green crayon off a roof, which would melt faster in the sun?

The one that gets broken into a million little pieces first.

5. You are standing in line (grocery store, bank, etc.), and someone gets in line behind you that stinks. The stink is so bad that people in line in front of you turn around and look to see if you are the one causing the stink. Do you cover your nose, hold your breath, breathe through your mouth or just get out of line altogether?

I cover my nose, hold my breath, get my cologne in the purse and spray! spray! spray!

6. If you dropped your cell phone in the toilet, would you fish it out? If so, how much soap would you use to wash your hands afterwards?

I'd get a glove, then fish the phone out with the hand with the glove. Wash hands with normal amount of soap.

7. Sydney Australia dust storm (link). How long do you think it would take you to clean your house after that sort of dust storm?

I take care of my 2 kids, and you expect me to clean the house too? Man, you're asking a lot, but to answer your question, probably a whole year. Since I can't escape the 2 kiddos, I do stuff when they nap which is just about an hour each day.

8. Do you think you can dance?

No. I don't think I can dance at all.

9. You are out to eat and someone across the room is staring at you. Do you get paranoid, try to ignore them, or go find out why they are staring at you?

Depends if I'm tipsy. If I'm not, will become shy and ignore but paranoid. If I'm tipsy, go over and ask if I knew them from somewhere since I'm bad with names and faces.

10. Come up with a crazy, wacky Thursday Thunk question.

What novel in the whole wide world would you go and just change the ending?

Thursday Thunks: Stranded!

Ouch, denim, news and that desert island question again....

Welcome to the September 17th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number one thousand twenty seven and the color of leaves in the fall.

1. My daughter (aka Demon #1) informed me the other day that her hugs were worth a million dollars. Would you give up hugs - giving and receiving - for the rest of your life, for a million dollars?
A million dollars in philippine pesos is around 48 million pesos, for the rest of my natural life, hmmm. I don't think I'll still be alive in another 48 years, but for a million pesos a year with no hugs.... that's a tough one. But the answer would be no. My daughter still hugs me for free and even my son does too...and I love it!

2.Have you ever been bitten by a member of the canine family?

Oh yes, a rabid one too. I had to had shots during the time that they had to give a million shots for just one bite or else I turn rabid too.

3. What is your favorite color of jeans?
Denim blue just the way I love it...blue and rugged.

4. What is something that has changed in public schools that you wish was the norm when you were in school?
The presence of cellphones. Hahaha. If we had that in highschool, I think I'd be better connected with some of my friends then.

5. What is your news source?

CNN, ABS-CBN, and GMA-7 as well plus all the blogs so updated with gossip and such things.

6. What sort of people do you think read your blog?
Moms, meme carnival addicts like me.

7. If I told you that I had a headache, you would say..........???
Poor dear,here,  have an Anvil.

8. You go to a buffet style restaurant, what is the first food you put on your plate?
Rice - anywhere and everywhere except when it's just noodles and pasta party.

9. If you were stranded on a desert island.... no, we aren't asking that again. Lets put a twist into this. Would you volunteer to be dropped off on a desert island, to be picked up in a month? And you don't get to bring those 3 items, either.
Who volunteers? Erm...no. Unless I was stranded with someone  - that's a whole new different twist, just make sure that that someone knows all the survival techniques and strategies.

10. When the sun sets, what are you usually doing?
Giving my kids a shower so they can be fresh again.

Kimber, the number 999 and the color of a butterfly sitting on a red rose.

1. A 90 year old man's dying wish in South Carolina was to be buried in his car. Link If you were told tomorrow you have 3 weeks to live, would you have any dying wishes or something special done before you died?

If I were told that I had 3 weeks to live tomorrow, I'd go to an attorney and make a will. Write letters to my mom, dad, husband, daughter and son. All the things I have/own divide up them between my husband, kids, mom, and other friendly relatives. Write blog posts of goodbye. Videotape some stuff for my kids to watch. Sell stuff on ebay that's sellable so my family can profit from them.

2. Do you pay for more stuff using a credit/debit card or cold hard cash?

Cash borrowed from a credit card.

Read a book.

5. If you see someone walking around with toilet paper stuck to their shoe, do you tell them or just laugh?

Haven't ever encountered that particular incident, but I'd probably tell them to avoid their further embarassment.

6. You are talking to someone you just met but you can't understand them at all because of their accent. Do you tell them you can't understand them or just smile and nod?

Smile, nod, then politely say I don't understand what your saying.

I don't think so. Wouldn't go near it.
8. Have you ever had a headache so bad it effected your vision?

Never, thank God!

9. Would you fit in more with the circus, Hollywood, Broadway, or comedy circuit types?
I'd love to say hollywood,  - as a writer not as an actress.

An ancient 'apricot scrub' that was never used.

Thursday Thunks: Questions About This and That

Questions About This And That And That Other Thing

Welcome to the August 13th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 4812 and the color of storm clouds.

1. Hypothetical question- you are in a building with famous works of art, old manuscripts of famous novels, and original sheet music from famous composers. The building is on fire and looks to be completely destroyed. Do you grab any of the famous works before fleeing, and if so what?

If the building is on fire and I happen to be in it, I doubt if I can go on a leisurely search for stuff that I'd like to keep. I'd panic and grab everything I can and stuff some in my backpack and carry as much as my shirt can carry and run as fast as I can. Of course, I have to do some quick thinking and call dial 911 first from my phone to get firefighters in the area.

2. In August 1969, the Manson family went on a 2 night killing spree. Do you think 40 years later they have paid for their crimes?
No.

3. Power Outage! What's the longest you have been without power?
In 1986 we had power outages for as long as months at a time. Recently, we had a month and a half due to a terrible storm.

4. Just bought a new tazer gun. Will you let it be tested it on you to see if it works, and how it feels to be tazered?
No. I love myself too much to even try being tazered. I'd most likely have it tested on a test dummy and I'm not talking about my neighbor. A mannequin most likely.

5. A neighbor's mail was delivered to you. In it is a magazine not wrapped in plastic. Is it ok for you to flip through it before giving it to the neighbor? Do you tell them you looked through it?
I guess if the cover is interesting enough. Then I'll mention that they have great taste in their subscription and I'd probably ask for the subscription coupon for it from them.

6. If I went through your purse/wallet right now, what all would I find in there?
A few identification cards, some folded papers, and absolutely no money.

7. Have you been living under a rock? For the past week, I have.

8. Tell us something crazy you did this week.
Can i embellish on this one? I've been living under a rock, that's something crazy!

A Bunch Of Stupid Questions By Kimber

Kimber, the number 14 and the color of life. (2 questions by Ber, figure out which 2.)

1. You are in an enclosed space with a group of friends. Elevator, auto, small room, etc.. You fart and it really stinks. Do you take credit for it or do you play along with the questioning of who did it?
Play along first, probably admit it in the end, though I'm sure I'll die of mortification.

2. You are locked in a room sitting at a desk with just a piece of paper and a purple crayon. What do you draw?
I can't really draw, probably a stick figure or a cloud outline.

3. Do you ever pee in the shower?
     NO.

4. Have you bought, sold or got rid of something on Craigslist?
No, I have at ebay though.

5. You are in a convenience store. In the line in front of you is a drunk guy trying to purchase more alcohol. The cashier tells him they cannot sell it to him because he is obviously already intoxicated. He gets belligerent. The cashier is scared. What do you do?
Pretend I'm with him and buy it for him already.

6. While shopping for produce, do you "sample" before you buy (i.e. grapes)?
    No.

7. You are walking down the street and there is a toddler sitting on a bench by themselves in front of a store - do you just keep walking?
I'll usually talk to the toddler and most likely ask where's his/her mommy?

8. Have you looked up an old friend and/or lover online?
Mostly old friends. lover is just too strong a word to define the other relationships.

9. You are nearly in a car/auto accident. Do you freak out, follow the person who nearly caused it & talk to them or just keep going?
I wouldn't know how I'd react to this one since I've never been into one. Most likely I'll follow the lead of those with me.

No. That doesn't cross my mind. What an interesting thought though.

Thursday Thunks: Hold the Knob, Wear Clean Shoes and Enjoy

Welcome to the July 2nd version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 14 and the color of your mother's hair dye.

1. When you close a door, do you close it quick and just let it slam or do you hold the knob and slowly shut it tight?
I don't usually close the door, since little man doesn't know how to open doors yet, and closing the door is his job. But when I do, I try to hold the knob to teach the kids not to slam it. (even if they love slamming the door and it shakes on its hinges.)
2.Train A is moving at 60 miles an hour. Train B is moving at 22 miles an hour. They will pass each other at X time. Now what color shoes are you wearing when train A derails?
White rubber shoes. I love this question! Almost got up and asked my hubby the answer.
3. What if M&M's grew on trees? What color M&M tree would you have?

Brown, for the life of me I keep remembering JLo and Matthew McConaughey in The Wedding Planner.

4. How many petals on a flower does it take to make it the perfect bloom?
I honestly don't count the petals.

5. I took you to spend $421.67 on you, what did we spend that money on?
If it wasn't anything for my kids, we might have gone to a scrapbook store or a crafts store where I get to learn a lot of diy stuff.
6. If you were a squash, what type of squash would you be?
Are there different kinds?  --- went on a research on this one. I found this photo of a butternut squash. I'm familiar with this because of Top Chef.
7. Have you ever gotten a wrong number call and ended up talking to the person for longer than 5 minutes?
Nope. Only erroneously sent text messages who are totally annoying or part of a scam.
8. Why haven't you joined Berleen & Kimber at Insanity Cafe yet? Do we stink?
Been planning to... will be doing that soon. You don't stink. I promise!
9. Now for one of Ber's questions back when TT was brand new... Shampoo bottles say lather, rinse, repeat... do you?
I repeat the rinsing part not the lathering. I'll get bald because of it.
10. It's July, the year is half over. Do you see it as "whew that part is over" or best is yet to come?
Best is yet to come! My daughter's birthday is in July, Hubby is in August and Little man is on December.
11. Why do you do the Thursday Thunks meme?
Questions are thought provoking, funny and entertaining. I really rack my brain sometimes.

8. Has a place that you lived ever been infested with some sort of insect or rodent? Infested is a strong word for it. There are cockroaches that we try to eliminate though.
9. When you were a youngin', did you hide in the clothes racks at department stores? I don't, but my daughter does.

Thursday Thunks

1. Are your ears dirty?
Nope. I clean them everyday, after every bath.
2. Would you rather be stung by a scorpion or bit by a snake? (Don't say either...no one wants to be in pain, that's the point. Pick one.)
Neither, but if had to pick one, stung by a scorpion seems less pain, well at least smaller compared to a whole snake bite.
3. Do loud noises make you snappish? (i.e. A loud restaurant, screaming child next to you, booming stereo from a neighbor's house?)
Depends on my mood, if the screaming child was mine - I usually snap. The others, not too much.
4. PETA- thoughts on this org.?
Do you have to be naked to prove a point?
5. Would you rather be the discoverer of the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot? (Imagination!)
I want to see snow, so I'd rather discover Bigfoot!
6. When in a public toilet and it's not flushed: do you flush & use or move on to a clean one?
Move on to a clean one, I easily puke.
7. Neighbors are having a noisy, party bonfire, what do you do?
Let them have their fun, retaliate the next day.
8. Do you play Monopoly? If so which version of the game?
Monopoly as a mobile phone game, yes. It's the London version.
9. Are you a remote hog?
Nope, my kids are. I can't ask them to change the channel. It just jumps between Barney and Playhouse  Disney.
10. Do you like the smell of paint?
        Who does?
11. My questions obviously suck this week. {I've had a bad week.}
So do you think Kimber should have...
~smoked pot before doing these questions? No, unless for medicinal purposes.
~drank liquid courage? No need for it.
~begged Berleen to do them (she's better at them anyhow)? Not at all, you did a great job.
~just piss off! I could have done better! - I don't think I could do a better job.
